So what’re you doing here?

So I drag a couple of friends to see a play for the first time. Ok, second time, but the first time was within college, so this was still exciting. While waiting for the play to start, one of my friends excuses himself for a minute and goes to chat with a girl he apparently knows. When he came back, I informed him that was the play’s director. After a brief silence, he relates the conversation they just had.

Friend : Heya (and other assorted greetings)
Director: Uh huh (and other reluctant acknowledgments)
F: So what’re you doing here?
D (confused): Er.. Just hanging about generally.. What about you?
F (pretending to be bored to be at the play): Oh nothing. Have to do something for timepass right? Haha..

The play was witty, but that wasnt the only reason I laughed so hard that day.

The ‘friend’ is kutti, your other friend (director) is…. ????

  2. Sudharsan says:

Director’s not a friend of mine. I just happened to know she was the director. Her name’s Manasi. And for the record, I didnt intend to name Kutty 🙂

  3. Srivats Ravichandran says:

lol… bleddy kutti…. the girl i know.. not personally though.. at least not as personally as kutti does… 😛

  4. @all, Kutty it seems likes his name with a Y… so please correct…

And is it a coincidence that the play was titled The Importance of Being Earnest 🙂

  5. Hariharan says:

That poor friend of yours. He suffers a major embarrassment and you chronicle that and add insult to injury! Cheapity!! I am ashamed of you, Susa!

  6. Sudharsan says:

    @Kut.. er, Hariharan
It was my hope that the person would have remained anonymous. You can see for yourself, that from naming him, to specifying his preference of spelling, was all the readers’ doing…

  7. R. Tamizhmarai says:

    Lol! The inimitable kutty!
